Local Filmmakers Announce New Collaborative Screening Benefiting Nonprofits
SALT LAKE CITY—Four local filmmaking groups have come together to create The Wasatch Picture Show—a new community fundraiser featuring short film screenings celebrating the outdoors. Proceeds from the event will support Utah nonprofits that benefit the Wasatch. The event will take place Thurs., Oct. 6 at Clubhouse in Salt Lake City. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and screenings begin at 7 p.m.
The highlight of the event will be a curated series of short films by Camp4 Collective, Sweetgrass Productions, Well Good Productions, and WZRD Media. In addition to film screenings, DJ Simba Sax will be on hand to keep the party hopping. Beer will be provided including a non-alcoholic option by Best Day Brewing. The event is open to the public ages 21 and up. Must have a valid ID.
"Salt Lake City is well known for its unparalleled access to outdoor recreation from climbing to skiing, hiking to biking, and so much more," said Camp4 Collective Founder and Creative Director Tim Kemple. "What's not as well known is the rich and highly talented community of film and media makers located here. We are thrilled to partner with this creative community to showcase the depth of that talent for a great cause."
All proceeds from the event will benefit three local Utah nonprofits, The Utah Avalanche Center, Salt Lake Climbers Alliance, and Cottonwood Canyons Foundation. A series of awesome prizes supporting the raffle have been provided by brands including AMP Human, Gnarly Nutrition, GOAL ZERO, Rossignol, Sterling Rope, Gregory Packs, Black Diamond, Mountain Hardware, Pit Viper, and more.
