Utah climbers raise $18K for Salt Lake Climbers Alliance
The Salt Lake Climbers Alliance is Utah’s leading voice for climbing access and stewardship: uniting, educating and inspiring climbers of all disciplines to serve their local climbing community since 2002. June 12th was the 5th annual SLCA Fundraiser Party, hosted by Black Diamond and sponsored by Red Rock Brewery. A third of the SLCA’s annual operating costs were raised, bringing in $18,000 to protect Wasatch climbing! The SLCA is a 501c3 non-profit that has been running on volunteer support for over a decade, and this one main fundraiser each year keeps the organization operating. That means environmental stewardship, Adopt-a-Crag events, paying for latrines in Joe’s Valley, climbing management planning, anchor and bolt replacement and Gym-to-Crag education will continue for another year here in the Wasatch! 450 supporters came out to support the SLCA strengthening the voice for Wasatch climbers.
