Big Cottonwood Canyon Anchor Replacement Project

Big Cottonwood Canyon (BCC) Anchor Replacement Project  The Wasatch Anchor Replacement Initiative (WARI) Committee was formed in early 2015 and identified S-Curves & The Pile in Big Cottonwood Canyon, Salt Lake City, Utah as top priority for bolt and anchor replacement due to the age, non-stainless hardware used, popularity, and quick access to the Salt Lake City population of climbers. With $500 in support from the Access Fund and the American Alpine Club’s Anchor Replacement Fund matched with funds raised by the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance and over 132 volunteer labor hours, we are pleased to report that 20 routes and ~142 bolts along with anchor chain have been replaced at S-Curves and The Pile in BCC. The routes that were replaced are listed below. Thanks to the volunteers for your countless hours and hard work to make this happen (you know who you are).
