SLCA Visits University of Utah

On September 11, 2023, Julia Geisler, the Executive Director of SLCA, visited the University of Utah to engage with Nate Furhman's Wilderness with Honors class. During this informative session, we discussed our role in preserving climbing opportunities in the Wasatch, highlighted how rock climbing can enrich lives, and underscored our advocacy for this cherished region.

Furthermore, we had the privilege of showcasing our tangible contributions by presenting the trail work completed on Jacob's Ladder Trail, Little Cottonwood Canyon, Big Cottonwood Canyon, American Fork Canyon, Maple Canyon, and more.

The class then was able to head to the Uintas to have a day of climbing. There, they experienced firsthand the impact of SLCA's work while enjoying a day of climbing—an opportunity to witness our efforts up close.
