The Central Wasatch Commission supports the Gate Buttress Project

The Central Wasatch Commission approved funding for six projects throughout the Central Wasatch for the 2020 work season. The projects steward recreational access in the Wasatch and help to protect the watershed. Funding was approved for: sponsorship of trailhead bathrooms in Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons, a CWC co-hosted Chipper Day in conjunction with the Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands, the construction of bridges on the Dog Lake Trail in conjunction with Trails Utah, the maintenance of a wag-bag kiosk at the Jacob’s Ladder trailhead in partnership with Save Our Canyons, the sponsorship of graffiti abatement work throughout the Central Wasatch in partnership with the Wasatch Graffiti Busters, funding in support of Utah Open Lands’ effort to acquire land at the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon, and funding to support the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance Gate Buttress Infrastructure trail and anchor maintenance project.
